Don Griffith, our Chief Pilot, and Doug Hahn, our Senior Flight Instructor, have extensive experience training pilots to fly safely and with precision in our mountain environment. All of our instructors stress the development of skills, judgement, and attitude necessary to be an outstanding helicopter pilot. We also incorporate mountain flying and advanced procedures into all our training.

Our training helicopter is the Schweizer 300C, one of the safest and most reliable piston helicopters with excellent handling qualities at our high altitude. Aircraft maintenance is performed by Century Helicopters, Inc., a Schweizer factory authorized service center.

Front Range Helicopters has also added the FLYIT Professional Helicopter Flight Simulator to our flight training program. The FLYIT Simulator allows sudents to work with an instructor in a controlled, low-stress environment where skill sets can be practiced and reviewed with the touch of a button. The simulator is so realistic that 7.5 hours may be used toward your VFR Helicopter certificate and 20 hours toward your Helicopter Instrument rating.
